Neil Wilson is a freelance writer and photographer based in Perthshire, Scotland. He is the author of more than 80 travel and walking guidebooks for various publishers, including Lonely Planet, AA Publishing, Berlitz, Jarrold and HarperCollins.

In recent years Neil has worked on the Lonely Planet guides to Edinburgh, Scotland, Ireland, England (Yorkshire chapter), Poland and Prague. He has also written for websites, newspapers, magazines and a whole range of other clients, and shot location videos for LP.

Neil is also a qualified fly fishing guide and instructor working with Fishinguide Scotland.
